General Meeting & Election Recap
Thanks to all the members who attended the Members' Dinner and Annual Meeting on January 23. The meeting began with our president, Johnny Aldape, acknowledging the hard work put forth from the 2009 board. The outgoing board members (Xanti Alcelay, Johnny Aldape, Jon Arrieta, Jim Mendiguren, & Luke Murgoitio) were thanked and presented with embroidered jackets.
Nominations were held for the five open positions on the 2010 board. Those elected were Tere Achabal, Xanti Alcelay, Martin Bilbao, Ysabel Bilbao & Toni Lawson, with Mike Urizar as the alternate. They will join Dan Aizpitarte, Annie Gavica, Amaya Sarria, Amy Wray, & Ricardo Yanci. Steve Achabal was elected as NABO delegate. Congratulations to everyone!
Patty Gabica gave the Euzkaldunak, Basque Charities, and Basque Foundation financial reports. If you would like a copy of this report or a copy of the meeting minutes, please use the contact information below, or you can pick one up at the bar.
Ricardo Yanci gave the NABO Report and was thanked for his many years of service as delegate. Jack Olson presented the report from the Growth & Development committee. Jeremy Malone presented information on Jaialdi 2010, and he got everyone excited with promises of a great festival!
Johnny Aldape concluded the meeting with some closing remarks and showed appreciation for everyone who contributed to the Euzkaldunak’s success during the past year.
